On March 11, 2026, we hosted the 9th edition of the Technology Workshop at the multifunctional GONG auditorium in Dolní Vítkovice, Ostrava.
The full‑day program offered participants a combination of expert presentations, practical demonstrations, and open discussions on topics that fundamentally shape the functioning of today’s IT environments.
Morning Session: Cybersecurity and Cloud in Practice
The workshop was opened by Eva Kijonková and David Klíma, who welcomed the participants and introduced the main topics of the day.
The morning session was primarily focused on cybersecurity:
Packetfence as an advanced solution for network access control (VÍTKOVICE IT SOLUTIONS)
The Sophos comprehensive cybersecurity ecosystem, including MDR services and endpoint protection (COMGUARD)
Labyrinth, a solution that actively deceives attackers and protects IT infrastructure through deception technologies (COMGUARD)
Cybersecurity was naturally followed by the topic of cloud computing:
A practical look at Microsoft Azure and its use in day‑to‑day IT operations (TD SYNNEX)
After a short break, the program continued with a focus on IT infrastructure and resilience:
The European virtualization platform NexaVM (LocalDisti)
Dell Data Domain as a key layer of cyber resilience and data protection (DNS)
Check Point and Zero Trust principles, including protection in the era of artificial intelligence (DNS)
The morning session concluded with the first part of an interactive quiz, which actively engaged participants and introduced the first competitive moment of the day.
Afternoon Session: Infrastructure, Networking, and Modern ToolsAfter lunch, the program focused on practical tools and solutions for modern IT infrastructure:
Proxmox as an alternative to traditional virtualization platforms without restrictive licensing models (VÍTKOVICE IT SOLUTIONS)
An important topic: why *“an expensive firewall does not automatically mean a secure network” (VÍTKOVICE IT SOLUTIONS)
Greenbone as a tool for vulnerability detection and strengthening overall security (VÍTKOVICE IT SOLUTIONS)
A significant part of the afternoon was dedicated to networking technologies:
The new generation of Cisco switches for modern networks (ALEF Distribution)

A live demonstration of Meraki management and its licensing model
The final presentation of the expert program focused on:
GLPI, a tool that brings structure, transparency, and order to IT service management (VÍTKOVICE IT SOLUTIONS)
The entire day concluded with the second part of the quiz, the announcement of the quiz winners, and a closing thank‑you to partners and participants.
Networking and Informal Session
The program then continued in a more informal spirit as part of MAMA MIA ITALIA, where participants enjoyed a guided tasting of Italian wines led by sommelier Lukáš Bialoň and continued their discussions in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
